Paging Dr. Harris

For Christmas Granny got Amelia a doctor kit, scrubs and coat...she loves to pretend that one of us is sick and she has to take care of us. This time it was my turn.

A weekend in Warren

This past weekend Amelia and I drove up to Warren to spend some time with family and friends. I, Robyn (Hali's sister-in-law) and mom threw a baby shower for Hali on Saturday. Thankfully everything turned out wonderfully. Hali will not have to buy her little girl a single article of clothing until she's 15! That girl is set!

In the photo above, starting at left is my Grandma (she is holding Andrew Love - Robyn and Brice's newest addition), Amelia, Aunt Tami with Ellie and my sister, Dacia.

On Saturday evening my family enjoyed dinner together at our favorite Chinese restaurant...Ian and Amelia had a blast being silly together all night long. And yes, Ian is enjoying a nice cup of warm tea.

On Sunday we all went to church and stayed for the banquet afterwards...Amelia thoroughly enjoyed her chocolate pudding. After she was done eating she ran all around the banquet hall for a good 45 minutes...she wore herself out — so much so she slept the entire way back to Columbus!!!! Lucky me!

It was a very long and tiring weekend, especially because Amelia has entered another "only mommy will do" phase. She is usually so well behaved for Buni and Beeps but this weekend was another story. We're chalking it up to a down-swing in her cycles of discovering who she is....boy I can't wait for it to turn to an up-swing again!!!

One of the best parts of the weekend was coming home on Sunday to a very clean house — all thanks to my wonderful husband!

Valentine's Dance

Amelia's class had their first Sweetheart Dance ... it was filled with chaos, music, screaming and a little bit of dancing. Amelia had a blast though. I think she was the only one dancing for the first 10 minutes! The bubble machine and balloons sure were a big hit though!

More blueberries, please

Amelia loves berries, especially frozen blueberries. She and I enjoyed a healthy snack of frozen berries the other day...this is the mess that was left...and the aftermath of the clean-up...aren't those chubby lil' legs SO adorable! I could just eat them up!

1st Trip to the Dentist

And it was a SUCCESS! Amelia was amazing — she watched mommy get her teeth cleaned and the whole time kept asking, " My turn now?" Literally every 12 seconds she said it...for like 8 minutes...it was quite annoying but very sweet at the same time. Of course, as soon as it was her turn she was very hesitant to get in the chair. I suggested having her sit on my lap and the dental hygienist said it was fine. It was actually quite difficult with my HUGE belly in the way.

Amelia sat back against me, opened up wide and we counted her teeth. She then let the hygienist polish/clean her teeth and even floss! I couldn't believe she sat there that long. The most amazing part was that she understood not to swallow the stuff and actually took water, swished it around her mouth and spit it out!!! Amelia was SO proud of herself! As soon as she was done she got a cool new toothbrush and asked if we could go get a balloon.....they didn't have any at the office so we had to hunt one down at the grocery store! But it was all worth it.

Unfortunately, since Amelia was on my lap I was only able to get this one photo of her and this photo doesn't really show how good of a girl she was.
